Throwback Thursday with Leigh Ellwood

Leigh Ellwood – Throwback Thursday

Hello, and thank you for joining me on Throwback Thursday. It will be ten years in November when my first novel, Truth or Dare, was published by Phaze Books. I wrote the work after discovering erotic romance in eBook. I knew I’d always wanted to write, but had trouble finding inspiration. After some time, the idea of creating a story in a small town similar to where I live in Virginia happened, and the floodgates opened.

Truth or Dare is about second chances and renewal, and mistaken identity that leads to love. After I wrote it I sent it to a number of eBook publishers looking for erotic romance specifically. Phaze Books offered a contract, and from there I wrote four more novels and several shorts based on the series. You can still buy Truth or Dare in eBook and print at most retailers, and if you do I’ll hope you’ll check out other books in the series.

My most recent release is Sugar Rush from Ellora’s Cave:

“…a treat to read from beginning to end.” – Long and Short Reviews
Baker Neve Rush is surprised to receive social media attention, both the good and bad varieties, after agreeing to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. She cares about people’s tastes in pastries, not sexual partners. The newfound fame has gained her new customers—as well as one resurfaced ex. Gianna stirs up memories Neve would rather forget, and an impromptu flirtation with a client might just do the trick.

Judy Goldsmith finds Neve’s open-mindedness refreshing and attractive, and isn’t above a little scheming to get to know her better. As Neve and Judy satisfy each other’s sweet tooth in the most pleasurable ways possible, feelings begin to blossom. But their deepening attraction may not survive a little white lie…and an even bigger, darker secret.

A Romantica® GLBT erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

About the Author

I am Leigh Ellwood. I write smutty stories about people who like getting naked and having sex. Some have more sex than others, some have sex with people of the same gender, some have sex with more than one person, and still others have sex with toys and things that require the use of batteries. My stories range from a few thousand words to well past 70k. The book list link above breaks everything down for you – genre, length, and other attributes. My books are available at Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, Kobo, and ARe. Really, just type my name in any bookstore site and something is bound to show up. I prefer ARe as a vendor because they rock, but feel feel to buy my books anywhere you like.

Shortbread Cookies with Toblerone -Guest Author Mary Lou George

12:00 AM 1 Comments

It's Too Yummy Tuesday!

On select Tuesdays I share delicious recipes either inspired by my (or other authors') books or that are just plain delicious! Today I'm happy to have special guest Mary Lou George, author of Saving Destiny. She's here to share a recipe for the most delicious-sounding whipped shortbread with Toblerone cookies. Take it away, Mary Lou!

In my latest book, Saving Destiny, Sloan and Mac’s road to happily-ever-after is littered with so many potholes one could be forgiven for thinking it’s just not going to happen, but one of the things our lovers can agree on is food.  When they’re manipulated into planning a baby shower together, Sloan spitefully tortures him with suggestions that they should serve eel.  His response?  “Hey, for entertainment, why not play Yoko Ono records? That oughtta make this the shortest party in state history.” Happily, in the end they agree on the menu and end up sharing Kentucky fried goodness at the local diner.

With this recipe, the only thing to fight about is who gets the last cookie:

Mary Lou George’s Love Bites – Shortbread cookies with Toblerone

Ingredients:
1 lb (454g) butter at room temperature
1 cup icing sugar
½ cup cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 Toblerone chocolate bar (depending on how large you want the chocolate pieces to be on the cookies, you might want two bars…and I’ve known to eat one while the cookies are baking)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Cream butter and icing sugar until very fluffy
Beat in cornstarch, vanilla and then flour.  Beat until batter is light and very fluffy. (a food processor works well for this)
Stir in nuts if using.  (I don’t use them)
Drop batter by teaspoons onto parchment paper.
Chop Toblerone into small pieces
Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden.
While cookies are still hot place a small piece of chocolate on each one.
Sprinkle on icing sugar if desired

Makes 120 bite sized melt-in-your-mouth cookies.  Seriously, they melt in your mouth.

Saving Destiny
by Sherri Somerville

Sloan Ridgeway and Mac Watson's fairy tale ended in tragically-ever-after. For years they've been separated by the grief and guilt surrounding his little sister's death. Devastated, Sloan traded small-town Kentucky for star studded big cities and tabloid fame, but life in the limelight was filled with emptiness and betrayal.

When one more highly publicized broken engagement sends Sloan home to lick her wounds she comes face-to-face with Mac. He obviously hasn't forgotten the past, but despite his antagonism, he's more compelling than ever. To save herself the heartbreak, Sloan vows to keep out of his way, but destiny won't let her. Desperate to rescue an abused horse in foal, Sloan is forced to enlist Mac's help.

Working together day after day begins to reignite the passion they once felt for each other. But is passion enough? Can Sloan and Mac breathe new life into their malnourished hearts and prove that true love trumps tragedy every time?
