About the LONE WOLVES series:

They are cowboys torn from their livelihood after a fateful bite changed their destinies forever. When their pack is disbanded by a new alpha, the lone wolves are forced to roam the woods of Shay Falls with no way to return to the ranch life they once knew. Each must find a male pack mate of their own—and a female mate to hold that bond together.

About DISCARDED COWBOYS:

When Talaitha helps capture two werewolves for her Gypsy clan’s traveling sideshow, she must also cage her untamed desire for the naked, erotic shifter cowboys who have declared her to be their mate. She knows that Romani could never mix with creatures of night, even if werewolves hadn’t been responsible for her mother’s untimely death.

Allowing herself to be drawn into Drew and Russell’s seductive struggle for dominance over one another, and their beautiful Gypsy as well, would mean certain retribution from her father, the shifter-hating clan leader who has secrets of his own. So when the werewolves’ plan for escape involves a kidnapping, Talaitha won’t be taken without a fight—and in order to truly claim her, her Western heroes will have to rescue her from the enemy she never knew she had.

ADULT ONLY Excerpt:

Drew gave her a lopsided, but no less dangerous, grin. “What do you say, beauty? Make up for lockin’ us in here by bringin’ your erotic scent closer. Let Russell stroke that silken skin while I make him come.”

Her heart skipped two beats at the fire in his eyes, but she curled her lip. “I would never be part of that. I won’t even watch you do such a sordid thing.”

“Oh, you’ll watch.” Drew let the hand closest to her wander over the curve of Russell’s ass, and something began to hum low in her pelvis. “You won’t be able to help yourself. You’ll stare while your mate gets claimed by his alpha—and wish to God you were on the other side of these bars.”

His hips pulled slowly away from Russell, and both men’s eyes fluttered. From where she was standing she couldn’t see Drew’s cock, but she knew it was rigid, like the one that was red and throbbing beneath Russell. He eased out of Russell’s hole, and a quick thrust shoved his hips back against Russell’s ass. His motions were hard enough for her to see Russell’s balls bouncing beneath him. Russell’s unrelenting gaze finally released her as Drew’s motions appeared to sweep him off to somewhere distant. Somewhere Talaitha could not go.

Drew was right about one thing. Despite the inner voice whispering for her to run away, she couldn’t stop watching. She was mesmerized by the sleek, glistening lines of their male bodies as they rocked in a passion she’d never before witnessed. Drew’s seduction and claiming of Russell thoroughly separated her from them while at the same time drawing her in. She couldn’t decide whether she felt shut out of their bond, or if she was an inexplicable part of it.

Drew’s thrusts grew harder and more desperate as his eyes squeezed shut and sweat trickled down his neck. He was beautiful. There was no doubt about that. So was Russell, his hair hanging long over the face contorted in what might have been misconstrued as pain if she didn’t know better.

“I ache for her,” Russell said in a gruff, throaty tone, challenging her opinion about his discomfort.

Drew shot her a smoldering glance. “Then buck this hot ass against me harder, and I’ll help you do somethin’ about it when I’m finished.”

Talaitha’s fingers dug into her palms as Russell began rocking back on his hands, slapping his rear against Drew’s hips. Drew threw his head back with a groan that pebbled gooseflesh on her arms. With one last thrust, he rammed his cock deep and let out a feral growl. His body shook visibly as he released himself inside Russell, who moaned in response with his eyes squeezed tight. Her feet finally began to shuffle forward, drawn to the call of their animal passion.

You'll Be Beggin' Me For It-Six Sentence Sunday

12:30 AM 5 Comments
On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.
WARNING: THIS WEEK'S SIX CONTAINS ADULT SITUATIONS AND LANGUAGE

Here's another six comes from my work in progress, DISGRACED COWBOYS--Book 3 of the Lone Wolves of Shay Falls series.

The smile Marcus unleashed caught her completely off balance. “I ain't aimin' to pay you for sex, darlin'. When I have you, it’ll be because you’re beggin’ me for it.”

Cocky bastard, saying “when” as though getting her in bed was some sort of predestined certainty.

“Clearly you don’t know me if you think I'd ever beg a guy for sex,” Brandi said, reaching down to unconsciously finger the spiral tattoo on her hip.

“Oh, I know a fact or two that might surprise you.”

1/2 cup of butter/margarine
1 -1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs

3. Mix vanilla with the buttermilk.
4. Mix the baking soda with vingegar.
5. Fold the buttermilk mixture in with the soda/vinegar mixture.

MONKEYS, SEX AND OTHER BIRTHDAY SURPRISES

Blurb: Missy Harder is reluctant to ruin a good thing and meet with her on-line lover, Sam Kentley, in person. Sam is dying to see if the connection they have is real. Humiliated in front of Sam by her brother's pet capuchin at her surprise birthday party, she wants nothing more than to be left alone. But when Sam refuses to leave her to her misery, they both learn that humor will get you through anything, and sometimes great sex and love sneak up on you when you least expect it.

Excerpt (Rated R):

“Quite a party,” he commented.

“Quite. It’s not every day my family descends on me, conspires to have me meet my dream man in person, only to humiliate me in front of him. Several times.” She shoved a forkful into her mouth. Then she pointed the fork at him. “That’s not true,” she said, through a mouthful. "They descend on me and humiliate me all the time. Just not in front of a man I really like.”

His heart, not to mention another organ vital to sex, swelled with pride. “You mean that?” he asked, slicing off another piece.

She blinked at him as if she didn’t understand. “Mean what?”

His ego deflated a little at having to spell it out for her. “A man you really like.”

She waved her fork nonchalantly, but spots of color appeared on her cheeks. “Well, yeah. Why do you think I’ve been so cautious? I wanted everything to be perfect so that when we met you wouldn’t run away.”

“If you haven’t noticed, I’m not running. Besides, normal is boring.”

“And there’s food. What man wouldn’t stay for cake?”

“I only want your cake.”

“There’s more in the kitchen.”

“Can I eat it from between your thighs?”

She choked on a mouthful, and he patted her on the back.

“Sorry, but you did promise we’d get to fuck later,” he said, his voice low so only she could hear. “I thought you might let me enjoy two things at once.” He nudged her elbow with his.

This time, she snorted. He found it endearing that she was just herself. No pretense, no bullshit, just one hundred percent Missy.

Missy looked him square in the eye. “I thought you were watching your weight?”

He looked at his belly and gave it a pat. “Still there. Besides, I’m allowed a treat on a special occasion.”

“Yeah, I don’t have a birthday every day.”

“Or birthday sex,” he said in all seriousness. “I’m happy to oblige.”

She laughed aloud. “Are you always so forward? I’ve been under the impression that you were a considerate man.”

He slung an arm around her and hugged her to his side. “You bring out my wild and crazy side.”

Missy leaned her forehead into the side of his head. A small gesture had never felt so right. The heat from the sigh she let out against his cheek sent the blood racing through his veins. He wanted her in the worst way and hoped she wanted him too. But it wasn’t only sex now that he wanted. A lifetime of craziness began to sound better by the minute.

The sound of a shrieking monkey made him draw away from her and not a minute too soon. A blur of flying fur obscured his vision before Scottie latched onto his head. The little shit grabbed hold of his hair with one hand and began beating him with a tiny fist as his small toes dug into the sides of his neck. Sam swore, but his curse muffled by monkey fur.

“Scottie, no!” Missy yelled as she took hold of the capuchin’s mid-section in an attempt to extract him from Sam’s face.

By this time, all the party guests were throwing out suggestions, and a couple of them were reaching to help. Scottie shrieked again and pounded harder on Sam’s skull. Sam grabbed onto his legs, but Scottie had his hair by the fistful, not about to let go.

“Nobody touch him,” Missy instructed, and the room quieted. She crooned to him, and he immediately calmed, his cries changing from irate screeches to angry chirps. “It’s okay, Scottie. Let go of Sam. He won’t hurt me.”

With one last yank, Scottie let go of his grip on Sam’s head and allowed Missy to draw him into the safety of her bosom. Sam didn’t know a monkey could glare, but the evil expression Scottie sent his way definitely said, back off or I’ll do it again.

Missy stroked Scottie’s back. “I’m so sorry, Sam. I don’t know what got into him.”

Max spoke from beside her. “You sure you washed off all the monkey piss? He marked his territory, you know. When Sam put an arm around you, he went ballistic.”

“Ew.” Missy held Scottie away from her, and Max scooped him up. “That’s right. How
could I forget?”

Sam startled in surprise when Scottie stuck his tongue out at him. “Seems as if I have competition.”

Workin' the Dance Pole: Six Sentence Sunday

12:29 AM 3 Comments
On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.

This week's six is from my work in progress DISGRACED COWBOYS. WARNING: Adult situations.

Brandi dipped her head close to give the pole a fake lick, getting her tongue as close as she could to pull off the illusion without her mouth actually touching the metal God knew how many dancers had sweat or coughed on. The men went wild, whooping and catcalling her as she humped her pelvis against the pole. What a crowd had turned out tonight. She still wasn’t used to seeing so many cowboy hats in a strip club. The new place she danced at catered to a big cowboy population, thanks to a glut of small ranches in the area. One thing was for sure, cowboys knew how to tip.

Taboo Fantasy Readers Only-Six Sentence Sunday

On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.
WARNING: THIS WEEK'S SIX CONTAINS ADULT SITUATIONS AND LANGUAGE

This week's six comes from my smoking hot new short story, DADDY HOTTEST.

There he was, in the flesh and mowing the lawn. April had turned unseasonably hot, and so had he. As many times as I fantasized about the guy, I hadn’t truly remembered every nuance of the fucking sexuality that dripped off him like the sweat rivulets rolling down his bare, chiseled torso. The ass of my dreams twitched in tight denims as he pushed the mower away from me. Studying, yeah--that's what I was here for. Surveying his fuckable body didn’t count.

Toad in the Hole-Recipe From Steampunk Author Anya Richards!

12:07 AM 2 Comments
It's Too Yummy Tuesday!
On select Tuesdays I'll share delicious recipes inspired by my books, or those of some special guest authors! Today I welcome Anya Richards!

The tradition English dish, Toad in the Hole, is a great deal yummier than the name implies. It’s a simple to prepare meal, good for dinner or, if you want to indulge in another English tradition, high tea. While it’s now made with sausage during Victorian times, which my Steampunk novel Beyond Prudence is loosely based on, it was sometimes made with whatever bits and pieces of meat were on hand. Luckily for us, with the wonderful array of sausages available on the market, this dish can be given a variety of flavors, depending on the type of sausage used.

Toad in the Hole

6 - 8 sausages
3 tsps oil
2 eggs
2 cups milk
2 cups flour
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown sausages over a low heat, without pricking the skins
Put oil in a baking dish and preheat in 350° oven for about 10 minutes.
Lightly beat eggs, add milk and gently beat in the flour and seasonings
Swirl the oil to coat the dish and then place the sausages in it. Pour the batter over the sausages and bake at 375°F until batter is golden brown and firm, about 40-45 minutes. Test for interior doneness with a skewer.

The mysterious device in Prudence Hastings’ basement could be the answer to her prayers, if she could just figure out what it is. Needing William Foreman’s help, she’s prepared to do whatever it takes to gain it. Even putting aside her dislike of machines and volunteering to test the risqué apparatus he’s developing for the Acolytes of Concupiscence.

Will’s expecting a lightskirt for a test subject and is horrified when he realizes the tempting woman he just debauched is very much a lady. But despite his best intentions, something keeps drawing him back to her, and it isn’t just the thought of discovering the inner workings of her uncle’s last invention. Unlocking their passions is turning out to be a far more pleasurable, if dangerous, job.

Beset by desire, automatons, secrets, an unintelligible maid and the danger of utter ruin should their association become known, Will and Prudence haven’t a chance in hell of remaining unscathed.

Fire up the boiler, open the sluices and take cover. Something’s about to explode…
Beyond Prudence is now available from Ellora’s Cave, and you can read an excerpt here.

On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.

This week's six is the opening of my WIP, DISCARDED COWBOYS.

Talaitha was in a hurry again, an ironic condition for someone who’d spent half the trip to Shay Falls feeling as though her life was frozen in suspended animation.

“Make sure you bring the white sage this time,” her father was yelling.

With her back to him, he couldn’t see her eyes roll. “I know, Papa.”

“Hurry, child, it’s getting away! Vanje, watch out and don’t let it get its teeth in you.”

About the LONE WOLVES series:

They were cowboys torn from their livelihood after a fateful bite changed their destinies forever. When their pack is disbanded by a new alpha, the lone wolves are forced to roam the woods of Shay Falls with no way to return to the ranch life they once knew. Each must find a male pack mate of their own—and a female mate to hold that bond together.

Werewolves love fierce and forever—and their very control over the full moon can be influenced by indulging hot, raw passion. But between their secrets, hardships and a huntress with a mind for revenge, finding their way to romance and redemption may prove a rougher ride than wild nights spent taming full moon urges.

About DISOWNED COWBOYS:

When Aimee gets lost during a hike, she finds more than refuge in a dark cave—she finds a chained and naked cowboy who claims to know who she is. Dillon and his partner, Kyle, are werewolves determined to become her mates. Just one problem—she shows up for her appointment with fate while wearing another man’s engagement ring.

The wolves will shamelessly pursue her, using every seductive trick in a cowboy’s book to rope their mate. But even the combined desire of two insatiably virile werewolves may not be enough when Aimee’s boss-slash-fiancé and Kyle’s pack mates show up to challenge Dillon and Kyle’s right to claim the woman they have dreamed of—and to each other.

R Excerpt:

“It’s comin’,” Dillon said. He was kneeling on all fours now. “I can feel it.”
“Fight it,” Kyle said. “You don’t want to change now.”

The other man rolled his eyes. “Yeah, like that’ll help. Why didn’t I think of that?”

Dillon was shivering now, and Aimee stared down at him with a curious frown. “What’s wrong? Thought you said you don’t get cold.”

Kyle took her by the upper arms, and a tickle flickered in her stomach. “There ain’t time for proper explanations,” he said. “You’re just gonna have to believe that you were meant to be here, and we’re not gonna let anythin’ happen to you.”

“Shit.” Dillon was on the ground now, heaving in and out.

“Why are you telling me this?” Aimee pulled away from Kyle’s grasp and stepped back with a wary glance at Dillon. “What’s wrong with him?”

“She’s fuckin’ engaged, Kyle.” The gaze Dillon leveled on her glowed with yellow fire, and she gasped aloud.

“Easy, now,” Kyle said, dropping beside Dillon to sit cross-legged on the cave floor. “Breathe with me, partner. You can do this. It’s just the low moon.”

Dillon sat up, but shook his head. “The waxin’ low moon. I can’t help it, Kyle. I keep thinkin’ about her marryin’ some jackass and, damn it.”

She scowled at him. “Hey! David’s not a jackass.”

The mention of his name brought a throaty growl in response. Kyle launched into some weird New Age-style deep breathing with his palms facing up on his knees. “Just try,” he said.

Dillon shut his eyes and whooshed out some forceful breaths while he continued to quiver. Aimee gripped her elbows in her hands while she watched the bizarre display. What was the big deal about her engagement ring? Maybe he’d recently had a bad breakup and it brought back memories.

She stepped forward. “I didn’t agree to marry the guy yet.” The words surprised her as soon as they were out. Why should she feel a need to explain? She didn’t owe them anything.

“But you’re wearin’ his ring.” The hint of accusation in the tone was clear. “You let another man put his ring on your finger.”

A stab of anger shot through her. “So what?” Her volume dialed up enough for the words to bounce off the cave walls. “It’s my life, and I can do what I want with it. Just who the hell are you to comment on whether I get married or not?”

“Who am I?” Dillon rose up on his knees, his eyes gleaming with something feral that set her teeth on edge. “I am your mate.”

Her jaw fell open, but her shock at the bold claim was quickly overridden by the odd ripples forming along the surface of his skin.

This week's six is from my brand new title DISOWNED COWBOYS, book 1 of the Lone Wolves of Shay Falls series.

“Touch me, Aimee,” Dillon said. “Let me feel those soft hands on my skin.”

She slid a hand to his chest, curious to feel the sensation of skin and metal against her palm. The links were warm from his incredible body heat, and she found his nipple between lengths of wrapped chain and tugged it while she gently bit his lower lip.

“Shit, I always knew it would be like this,” he said, letting out a moan. “But I never dreamed it would be now.”

Long, white fangs dripped with saliva and menace, and Talaitha shivered as she tried not to imagine what those teeth would feel like buried in her throat. Russell swung his powerful body around parallel with Drew’s, biting down on a pale ear while he tried to climb on the other wolf’s back. With a vicious snarl, Drew sank his jaws into the raised fur around Russell’s neck while mounting his back. Then he reared back to howl at the moon while his fur disappeared into sleek, tanned flesh, the keening howl becoming a human bellow of triumph.

Drew was still hunched over Russell’s back as he grabbed hanks of fur around the wolf’s neck and growled, "You are defeated," into his ear. "Shift back."

This week's six is another guest post from my husband's newly released erotic short, COWBOY BAR.

EXCERPT

Martin was dizzy from the excitement, and sweat beaded his brow as he watched his wife get brought off in front of the crowd of horny men. Josh had unzipped Martin’s shorts and pulled his cock free, and Martin didn’t give a damn that a man was doing this to him. He craved release any way he could get it. Meanwhile, he saw that Valerie and the waitress slid off the motionless bull, Valerie’s torso slumped over the saddle while someone handed the blonde woman some rope. She skillfully bound Valerie’s hands together in front of her while other hands tugged her shorts off of her.

I almost felt sorry for the sexy creature walking beside the queue of cars. I was such a sucker for fuck-me-now rocked shoulders and wavy, dark hair. The man had absolutely no idea what I was about to do to him.

My stomach tickled with anticipation while I watched the attendant prep the car ahead of me. He must have been new, because I would definitely have remembered that firm ass and hot pecs. And here I’d thought the afternoon would involve no more than mindless errands.

“Seems like you really want to be the wolf in charge,” Russell said to Drew, the mocking tone back in his voice. “That outta make this interestin’.”

The men’s chatter suddenly ceased, and though they began circling each other again as men, both dropped into wolf form in almost perfect synchronicity. The growls and raised hackles of fur stunned Talaitha, and she jerked back farther from the cage.

She watched in the dim light of the rising moon as Drew snapped powerful jaws at Russell's reddish-brown muzzle, and Talaitha literally felt a jolt of sympathy pain when Russell yelped. She wanted to run away, but found herself glued to the hard-packed dirt while the wolves danced and snapped, lunged and retreated.

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Talaitha snapped.

“You can’t reveal our secret to the public,” Drew said, whipping around to face her with wild blue-gold eyes. “Surely you can see how bad that would be for our kind?”

“And exactly why should I have a care for your kind," she snapped, cocking her head, "considering what they have done to mine?”

“So, my sexy, innocent-lookin’ mate turns out to be a hard-drivin’ business opportunist," Russell said, staring at her. "Even at the expense of men’s lives.”

Talaitha folded her arms over her front, wishing she’d brought the blanket to throw across her shoulders. “Except you’re not really men--you're animals.”

“Let us out," Drew said from beside Russell, "and I’ll show you just how much of an animal I can be.”

Russell’s hand shot out across Drew’s chest as he said, “Easy, cowboy, or your talk ain't likely gonna convince her to open this cage.”

On select days I feature books by some great authors. Today, Ellora's Cave author Elaine Lowe is here to share info on her title MAGIC EIGHTS.

About MAGIC EIGHTS:

A casual wish by a frustratingly horny wife results in a most unexpected bit of magic…

Susanna walks into her kitchen to see two copies of her husband of eight years, William. When they both seduce her, she’s helpless to resist. Who would want to? When another copy walks in and makes love to her, and another, she ceases to ask why, only, how much can she take?

Seven copies, one original, and all of them want to push her to the very brink. Can she handle them all? Sinful satisfaction is the best anniversary present, and eight is Susanna’s lucky number.

EXCERPT:

Blowing a frizzy strand of reddish-brown hair from in front of her face, Susanna Walker-Wong tried valiantly to relax into the suds of her bath. Truly soothing rose and chamomile scents floated into the hot air of the bathroom, and hot water always relaxed away the tension she held in her shoulders. But all these luxurious bubbles and steam didn’t really get to the core of her problem.

She was horny. Despite, or perhaps because of all the stresses in her life, she was ready to burst with the need for someone to touch her. Well, not just someone. It would be really fabulous if her husband would get a clue and look up from his computer screen long enough to notice her panting after him.

But instead, she took a bath. Really, she shouldn’t be this desperate. It was their eighth anniversary, and that morning their son had been taken to his grandparents’ house where he was likely being spoiled rotten. For lunch, she had been the entree and Will had worshipped her thoroughly before taking her out to a sumptuous dinner that they’d enjoyed and debated like the foodies they were. It should have been perfect, she should have been completely satisfied.

Her career was humming along, though she was only working on contract, part-time, with Nathan being only four years old and just starting preschool. Yeah, the dishes needed to be done, and there was yard-work that begged to be finished and the floor required vacuuming desperately. But if she ever finished her entire “to do” list, she’d be dead, right? She should be completely content.

So why was she absolutely burning with lust? Every time William breathed, she watched the rise and fall of his chest and wanted to tear off his T-shirt and run her hands over his pecs and lick his nipples until he groaned. She wanted to thread her hands in the blue-black of his unkempt hair and tousle it even more while she pulled his lips to hers. She wanted to knock his laptop to the ground and climb astride him and ride him until he screamed her name and woke up the neighbors in the next condo.

She moved slightly to get her shoulders deeper into the water and relieve the tension there. The soft rose scent of the bubbles fluttered up to try to console her, mixing with the subtle spiciness from Esme’s present. She sighed, her hands drifting over her clit, only to retreat quickly to her side when the door swung open.

Will stood in the doorway for a moment, taking in the soap-obscured view of her naked body and flashing her a brief but devastating grin that still made her heart go pitter-patter.

“Hello, my water nymph. How do you find your bath? And is that incense I smell?” He turned away from her and to the toilet, nonchalantly taking a piss, while she observed the curve of his ass in the ancient pair of khaki shorts that he wore.

“Bath’s searing hot, just like this nymph likes it. And no, the scent is something Esme sent us for our anniversary.” She looked him up and down. “Care to join me?” Her voice dripped with invitation, but she knew he didn’t share her particular fetish for baths.

“You’ve got to be kidding me! It’s like ninety-five in the house, and it’s only going to get hotter. How you can stand to take a hot bath in this weather is beyond my ken!” With a drip and a zip and a quick wash of his hands, he turned back to her, his eyes eating her up and making her throb even more than she had been. With his dark shining eyes carrying that edge of lust and his wicked goatee reminding her how much she liked the drag of his chin against her thighs, she was practically melting with need for him. But she didn’t let it show. Her appetite for him was simply ridiculous after all the years they’d been together and she’d never been completely comfortable letting it all out. He was everything she ever wanted, and she didn’t feel like scaring him off now.

Discovered Bathing-Six Sentence Sunday

On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.

For this week's six, I'm posting another snippet from ONCE EVERY SPRING to celebrate the fact that it's now available! It's my first "sweet" urban fantasy/alternate reality, pubbed under my moniker Lisa Logan. It was a lot of fun to write.

With a giggle, Dana pushed off from the bottom of the silt bed and shot up out of the water, flipping her hair back like she was a sultry mermaid emerging from the depths.

Her glee was short lived. She opened her eyes to find Adam standing on the edge of the stream, an undecipherable look on his face and his hands on his hips as he stared at her. She let out a shriek-gasp and threw her arms over the bare torso he’d just caught a full view of.

“What the hell are you doing?” she fired off at him.

“I was going to ask you the same thing.”

Powder in His Pistol-Six Sentence Sunday

~~Warning: Adult Content~~

On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.

A while back I posted a snippet of my husband's work, and it was so well received that I decided to include another one this week! Today's six is from his just-released short story, COWBOY COMES CALLING.

Derrick was lost in his musings, his hand working faster and more insistently between his legs, when he heard someone clear their throat. His eyes flew open, and just past the dancing flames of the fire pit he saw the shape of a man.

Derrick froze, peering through firelight. It was the damned cowboy himself, standing there with his Stetson cocked at an angle and watching him with a look of obvious amusement on his face.

“Guess you still have some powder left in that pistol there,” the man joked, stepping more fully into the light.

Meanwhile, on Fridays I like to post pics that are a feast for the eyes and a spur to the wild imagination! And hoo, yes, ma'am, I'll definitely have one of these to go! Actually, he reminds me a bit of my muse--rocked and a bit mysterious.

On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.

This six is the next snippet from ONCE EVERY SPRING, my "sweet" urban fantasy WiP.

Dana wants to know how a tree transported her to an alternate fantasy reality where just one other exists...

“There is more to it than just the trees.” Adam paused, as if he was about to impart a vital, verbose speech he'd been preparing for ages. “The jacaranda petals.”

She waited, frowning when he failed to reveal more. “What about the petals?”

He resumed walking, and she followed him up a small slope.

Jacarandas: The Magical Bomb-Six Sentence Sunday

On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.

This six is the next snippet from ONCE EVERY SPRING, my "sweet" urban fantasy WiP.

“Hey, I'm no expert on magical theory, but I do know it's not all trees and not all the time.” Adam turned away for a moment, his gazing landing on the tree that now appeared much smaller in the distance. “Something about jacarandas makes them unique.”

Dana fought a sudden urge to forget sheer, scientific logic to simply lie on her back in the meadow to bask in the warming sun with the man beside her. “Even if jacarandas are the magical bomb, a decent hoard of people should still be here. The world must have thousands of them, so there's got to be more to it.
