The smile Marcus unleashed caught her completely off balance. “I ain't aimin' to pay you for sex, darlin'. When I have you, it’ll be because you’re beggin’ me for it.”

Cocky bastard, saying “when” as though getting her in bed was some sort of predestined certainty.

“Clearly you don’t know me if you think I'd ever beg a guy for sex,” Brandi said, reaching down to unconsciously finger the spiral tattoo on her hip.

“Oh, I know a fact or two that might surprise you.”
