This week's six is another snippet from my WIP DISCARDED COWBOYS, book 2 of my LONE WOLVES OF SHAY FALLS series.
“You don’t want to let us go because you like havin’ us around,” Russell said, the teasing back in his voice. “You’re afraid we’d take off and you’d never see us again.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Talaitha snapped.
“You can’t reveal our secret to the public,” Drew said, whipping around to face her with wild blue-gold eyes. “Surely you can see how bad that would be for our kind?”
“And exactly why should I have a care for your kind," she snapped, cocking her head, "considering what they have done to mine?”

Deviance and attitude is written all over her words- love it- great 6

Great conflict between them
ReplyDeleteI wondered about the blue-gold eyes until you wrote "our kind." That explains why his eyes are unusual! Now I wonder what "our kind" could be. You definitely made me want to read more.
ReplyDeleteA hint to "their kind" can be found right in the series title: The Lone WOLVES of Shay Falls! Muwahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteNice confliction there. Great snippet!
