# NaNoWriMo # Post

NaNoWriMo Begins! Day 1 and 2!

I've interrupted my normal blog schedule to bring you daily updates from November's National Novel Writing Challenge

Throughout November, I'll be checking in daily with some quick notes, a progress meter, and to share my favorite line written that day!

Daily Notes: It's finally here! NaNoWriMo 2015 is off and running. My project is the Sons of Herne series, a set of interwoven tales surrounding the pagan sabbats and the gods appointed to oversee them.

Day 1: Started with a midnight sprint and crossed the daily requirement (1667 words) in an hour! Next day, I added to my count on my own and then attended a NaNo kickoff party/write-in and I won some delicious gourmet "sipping chocolate with a hint of cherry". Yes! That'll be perfect to stir into my coffee in the mornings when I sit down to do my word count!

Day 1 total word count: 3,914

Day 2: I got up early and went right to it.

Favorite Lines Written for Days 1 and 2:

Nov 1: How could emptiness feel so heavy?

Nov 2: How polite of him to give advance text notice of his call, like the enemy sending a warning shot across her bow.

Daily Progress:

About The Sons of Herne:

The god Herne has appointed eight of his most virile, headstrong sons as keepers of the pagan holidays. To honor their sabbat, each must join with a mortal female in a ritual to maintain the balance between worlds.

It is the year of The Thousand Seasons, and the Fates have secretly conspired to mark the end of an era by granting the gods one thing they lack--a true union of male and female that will last beyond the passion of a sabbat joining.
Herne’s sons will wrestle with the conflict between sacred duty and their own yearnings, a struggle will not only challenge their beliefs, but may threaten the success of rituals that must be observed lest the mortal and immortal worlds collide in chaos.
