On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.
This six is the next snipped from ONCE EVERY SPRING, my urban fantasy WiP.
Adam chuckled as Dana struck off the same way he'd been headed, with no clue where she was going.
"You still didn't tell me your name,” he said, falling into step beside her.
She swatted what she thought was an insect from her lower calf, frowning when she looked down to see the crimped the stalk of a delicate cosmos-type flower. “You’re my delusion--you tell me.”
He laid a finger on his cheek as though pretending to deliberate. “Hm...I suppose Eve would be too derivative?”

Sarcasm at its finest moment- great 6
ReplyDeleteAwfully lippy, that delusion : )
ReplyDeleteGreat six.
Sounds fun :)
ReplyDeleteFun and descriptive.
ReplyDeleteFunny line!
ReplyDeleteLOL I like Adam. Great six!
ReplyDeleteGood voice, fun characters, I have a question though... it seems like this is from his POV, and he gives her a name (Dana) at the opening.
ReplyDeleteDid I misread the POV? Does he know her name and is teasing her? I need more to answer my questions.
I love the derivative comment, btw. Keep it. :o)
Liana...the entire book is written from her POV. Thanks for commenting, everyone!!
ReplyDeleteI liked her assessment "You're my delusion - you tell me."
