A Bittersweet Reunion -8 Sunday NaNo Week 1

~~It's a special Snippet Sunday!~~

On Sundays, I share tidbits of my works in progress as part of Weekend Warrior’s 8-Sentence Sunday. And since I'm currently participating in NaNoWriMo, I'll be posting a little weekend wrap-up at the conclusion of today’s snippet.
My NaNoWriMo project is a paranormal (erotic) romance titled DISARMING COWBOYS, book 7 of my Lone Wolves of Shay Falls series. 

“I missed the funeral,” Jayson said.

Jayel’s gut clenched. “You were a little busy at the time, I imagine.”

“Is that what you imagine? That I was too busy playin’ with my new pack to see our parents laid to rest?”

A swell of the old anger resurfaced. “I imagined that Blaise’s band of psychotic murderers had decided to kill you after all, or that you were being tortured, or that changing into something unnatural was causing you unspeakable agony. And part of me imagined the first thing Blaise would do once you’d become one of them would be to have you come after me yourself.”

My Week in NaNo
I did my traditional midnight sprint kickoff on November 1. I like to get a head start in case things go awry later, which always manages to happen! This was the first year that the whole family joined in to do NaNo together, which is exciting! And I've got a special writing tips series going here on the blog all month in honor of NaNo.
