Into the Hero's Arms -Snippet Sunday

~~It's Snippet Sunday!~~

On Sundays, I share tidbits of my works in progress as part of Weekend Warrior’s 8-Sentence Sunday. This week's snippet is from my work in progress DISORDERLY COWBOYS, book 6 of my LONE WOLVES OF SHAY FALLS cowboy/werewolf/menage series.

Last Sunday, hunky cowboy Jayson found Lana hanging from the roof...

Trying not to picture both of them winding up with broken bones, Lana let go. The drop was faster and shorter than she’d imagined, and she wound up in Jayson’s strong, capable arms.
His eyes glittered while he looked her over, and when his gaze met hers, she felt the jolt all the way to her toes.
“What were you doin’ up there?” he asked.
A flicker of guilt overrode the pleasant tickle in her stomach. She’d been so determined to test whether the men could truly sense her distress that she hadn’t considered what to say if her plan worked.
Lana shrugged. “Oh, you know, I thought I’d get in some light dusting while I’m busy not doing anything with my life.”

  1. Cute last line of hers. I liked it. So is she pretending to be the damsel in distress?

  3. Somehow I doubt he'll settle for that answer, which should lead to a lot more fun conversation! Excellent excerpt, glad she's off that roof and I can stop worrying LOL.
