Riding in on Trees-Six Sentence Sunday

On select Sundays I'll be sharing a six-sentence excerpt from one of my works in progress, as part of Six Sentence Sunday.

This six is the next snippet from ONCE EVERY SPRING, my "sweet" urban fantasy WiP.


Then again, there were bigger problems than how bedraggled she must look. “So this is all happening because of magic...trees?”

“I didn't believe it the first time, either," Adam said.

“This doesn't make sense. If trees are some kind of magic portal, why aren't there crowds of people here with shopping malls and a Starbucks? It's not like we rode in on the only two trees on Earth.”
