NaNoWriMo 2017 Day 1: Kickoff!

I've interrupted my normal blog schedule to bring you daily updates from November's National Novel Writing Challenge

Throughout November, I'll be checking in daily with some quick notes, a progress meter, and to share my favorite line written that day!

Daily Notes:

Happy kickoff day! Welcome to my eleventh year of participation in NaNoWriMo, where I will attempt to write 50,000 words in 30 days. As per my custom, I have changed over my desktop wallpaper to a NaNo theme, and I started in right at midnight with a Halloween-candy-fueled word sprint.  This year's project is a dragon shifter romance, the first of a trilogy requested by my readers. I'm really excited about it!

Daily Total: 2682

Favorite Line Written Today:

"Eternal construction, road rage, and serial cell phone use has turned the entire freeway into a horror show gauntlet. There were so many accidents today that I switched on the news to be sure we weren't in the middle of Armageddon."

Daily Progress:

About this year's NaNo, Kiss of the Dragon:

A firefighter breaks all the rules to rescue a beautiful woman from a fire--and that's just the start of his new and bizarre behavior. Saving his mate has triggered a power he never knew existed, one that could burn down his career and scare away the object of his newly ignited passion. Keeping his condition secret is the best way to preserve both, but how long can he hide the massive, fiery dragon lurking within?

  1. I love the thought of a dragon firefighter... firefighters are soooo hot... pun intended... oh n if you don't mind my asking... what kind of softwear do you use to write with? Screen shot of cards n outline was intriguing to my organizational mind... good luck I'm sending inspiring vibes...
