Meeting in the Woods-Snippet Sunday

This week's snippet is from my WIP, DISCIPLINED COWBOYS, Book 6 of the LONE WOLVES OF SHAY FALLS series.


A flood of relief hit Lana when she realized the man she had just unceremoniously bashed into wasn’t the one she feared. This man was a cowboy,  all the way from the brown Stetson he was straightening down to the snakeskin boots on his feet. In between, he wore a short leather jacket and criminally tight jeans.

“A cowboy in the middle of the woods,” she found herself saying, rather breathlessly considering her wild sprint.

His head cocked to one side while they studied one another. “A fancy lady in the middle of the woods.” The twang in his deep voice held a note of humor, but it was coated in a layer of concern. “You all right, ma’am?”
