# NaNoWriMo # On Writing

NaNoWriMo 2018 Day 18: 60k and Stress Sandwiches

Daily updates about my experiences doing November's National Novel Writing Challenge.

Day 18

Progress to Date:

Favorite Line(s) Written Today:
...fate liked to intervene in supernatural matters, see to it that the one soul in the world who could change a man into a flying, mythical monster would indeed cross paths with her intended.
Daily Notes:
After gushing about my lovely day off on Friday, turns out that would be the yummy filling in a stress sandwich. Work got all kinds of crazy last night, but that didn't stop me from screeching into the break room just in time to catch a group sprint. This morning I got up, set up Bri's homeschooling week, and started in on some word count. I'll grab some more for a couple hours before getting ready to head down the hill for Day 2 of 4 work shifts.

60k words has been achieved, and Chapter Ten is just about to wrap up. After a rival love interest showdown, a swoonworthy gift, and a suspicious exit, the heroine is concerned enough about what her hero is up to that she reaches out to a fellow shifter mate.

Daily Word Count: 1,701 (since last post time.)

Daily Goody Treat:

Treat bag #18: SQUISHY THREE! Cute little pink piggy squishy for the win, plus the daily chocolate truffle and a great quote card from Eileen Caddy: "All you need is deep within you waiting to unfold and reveal itself."

About this year's NaNo, Heat of the Dragon:

For years, Tristan stayed away from his destined mate to protect her from the dragon nature even his native medicine practices can't control. Battling the beast grows harder with each passing day, especially since returning to the town where Jessica is close enough to touch. Her nearness triggers more heat than he can handle, and the spirit of his grandfather warns him that the consequences could be fatal.  Visions of a new threat to Jessica will force him to face the woman he ran from, but how can he save her when he can't tame the fiery dragon lurking inside?

Book 2 of the Kiss of the Dragon series.
